Use light intelligently with window blind system “Light in the dark”

Here is another environmentally friendly gadget called “Light in the Dark”. Being a window blind system, Light in the Dark is capable of producing solar power while being a sustainable product. It seems window blinds establish a reputation of eco friendly solar producing system.

It would be interesting to find out how our lives could become more sustainable due to new generation environmentally friendly technologies. A Light in the Dark was engineered by Ivan Huber whose idea is to receive power from the sun light during a day in order to use it at night. A Light in the Dark blind system also features a foil reflector.

A Light in the Dark appears to be a Venetian blind system, which makes it possible for many houses to become much more energy efficient with minimized night lighting needs. Photovoltaic cells being placed on the outer surface of the blinds accumulate the energy of the sun during a day to finally store it in a Lithium Ion battery.

As far as the inner surface is concerned, it consists of some cells, reflector panel, lens as well as LEDs. Once blind system is activated, the blinds emit light by returning the sun light accumulated by day. These wonderful looking blinds have a zero clearance design. In addition, the photovoltaic cells boast a high shading coefficient, making your building cooler during a summer season.
