Android 2.0 Donut will arrive in autumn

Only two months ago Android has had its update to the version 1.5 code named "Cupcake". We liked it a lot. In best Android fashion the SDK was released in ahead and the firmware itself was refined in its major UI, browsing and performance pillars. Totally surprisingly for me, the next generation of Android OS is ready to join in approximately around autumn of this year. The more official info says that 2.0 "Donut" version will be released after three or six months from now. The thing is though that we are speaking here about revolutionary new operating system in the meaning of very few of its components were taken from the current versions.

Android 2.0 Donut is still under tissue of conspiracy but some plausible user experience improvements are already known. Search feature will incorporate Google and device search simultaneously. A lot of work seems be done in the area of speech-to-text conversion adding the possibility to pronounce a search inquiry as well handwriting it on touch sensitive smartphones. It is said that some of software for Android 2.0 was developed by SVOX company from Swiss.

As a prognosis, I suggest gesture input and Adobe's Flash improvements. The last one has a longer story behind it. Recently Adobe has announced that they are going to make Flash content cross-platform for desktops and mobile gadgets and even offer donations for willing developers. And I can perfectly see why.
